Who would dare to face Rajnikanth at the box office?
Not many, one would reckon.
But then we have Amitabh Bachchan as well as Subhash Ghai who have decided to take on Rajni this time around, as a triangular contest will ensue at the box office between the Hindi version of ‘Kochadaiyaan’, ‘Bhootnath Returns’ and ‘Kaanchi’ on April 11, 2014.
Ghai’s return to terra firma – Kaanchi starring a newcomer Mishti along with Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborthy will not only clash with Bachchan’s ‘Bhoothnath Returns’, but will also have to take on the might of Rajnisaar’s fan club who will be hollering for tickets when their matinee idol’s movie hits the marquee.
The Rajnikanth film was to have been made and released over a year ago, but then ill health prevented the star from shooting for the film and hence the delay.
Ghai too has been delaying the release of his film ‘Kaanchi’ for various reasons, and one did not think that he would have to take on the might of Thalaivaa.
Ghai says that he even called the hero Rajnikanth. “Kochadaiiyaan’ is being released along with my film ‘Kaanchi’.
“I wish him all the luck and he is a very close friend,” says Ghai.
“Rajni also wished me a lot of luck for my film too. We will ensure that both the films will do well at the box office,” hopes Ghai, fingers crossed.
