Controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s ambitious attempt at recreating the carnage that rocked Mumbai in 2008 in his thriller ‘The Attacks of 26/11’ has hit a rough patch with the UAE censorboards.

Emirates24|7 has been informed that the movie is under review and could get a delayed screening in the UAE.

“This is to inform all that the film THE ATTACK OF 26/11 is not cleared from the Censor Board. We therefore, request you to postpone the program till we confirm the same,” read an e-mail statement from the film distributor Al Nisr Cinema Film.

“Please remove the trailer and poster from the cinema.”

Every movie that gets screened in the UAE is approved by the National Media Council.

Shot simultaneously in Hindi and English, the movie stars Nana Patekar and Sanjeev Jaiswal.
