The first instalment of Dabangg was Anurag Kashyap’s director brother Abhinav Kashyap’s idea. He directed the first part and the director fell out with Salman Khan during the making of the film itself.
So, when a sequel was made, Abhinav was thrown out from the project and the producer Arbaaz Khan also became the director of the sequel. Arbaaz had his brother Salman Khan’s backing and the support of the entire team and hence the sequel was possible.
But the sequel did not shatter records big time and one felt that a lot was left to be desired from the second part of the franchise.
And now as Salman Khan wants to do a third part, he does not want Arbaaz to direct it for a few reasons.
Arbaaz has just started a romantic relationship with a Romanian girl Alexandra Carmelia. So, he is still getting to grips with the relationship to be able to concentrate on directing a film.
Secondly Salman wants Arbaaz to concentrate on being an actor as Salman is very fond of Arbaaz’s acting and wants him to establish himself properly.
Last and but not the least, Salman told Arbaaz that he wants a director with better directorial skills and a bigger name to helm the project.
Salman’s choice for the same oscillates between directors Ali Abbas Zafar a (Sultan, Tiger ZInda Hai) and Kabir Khan Ek Tha Tiger and Tubelight.
