Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) in its third season may not see their biggest brand and the force behind the event cheering for them.
Salman Khan who has been the ultimate face behind CCL might miss the entire season or few of the matches.
The actor underwent a major surgery last year and might go for a medical check-up to the US around the same time as the CCL which takes off from February 9.
Salman, who turned up several times to cheer the team in the last two seasons, might not be around this time.
Players from Bollywood team Mumbai Heroes have started their practice sessions to take on seven other teams from different film industry in India.
Chennai Rhinos, Kerala Strikers, Telugu Warriors, Veer Marathi, Bhojpuri Dabanggs, Karnataka Bulldozers, Bengal Tigers and Mumbai Heroes will face each other in the third installment of the CCL T20 League.
Salman Khan had featured in the first season as captain of the Mumbai Heroes which faced a humiliating defeat then. In the second season Salman took the backseat and decided not to play. Suniel Shetty took over as captain of the team. Not that change of captaincy changed the fate of the team in the field.
In 2011, Salman came to Dubai to announce Sharjah cricket stadium as the home ground of the Mumbai Heroes. The 2012 opening ceremony in Sharjah stadium was a houseful with many well-known singers performing for the spectators.
This time too a tentative fixture with a Sharjah match has been scheduled. On February 23 a match between Kerala Strikers vs Chennai Rhinos and Mumbai Heroes vs Bhojpuri Dabanggs have been lined up. If all goes according to plan we might see some filmy stars descending in the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Season 3 will have the Curtain Raiser Event in Mumbai on January 19, reportedly Salman Khan and the new brand ambassador Bipasha Basu with many other celebrities will give their performance.
