While most Bollywood actors were too shy to comment on Salman Khan's 'raped woman' analogy, good friend Aamir Khan has rather boldly opened up on the controversy, terming Salman's remark 'insensitive'.

At the poster launch of 'Dangal', Aamir was asked about Salman's comment which stirred up a hornet's nest, to which he said, "I feel... I was not present there... (But) going by the media reports, what he has said is rather unfortunate or rather insensitive."

Aamir also said he hasn't met Salman since he made the rape comment and, asked if he would offer his colleague advice, told the press, "Who am I to advise?"

Two weekends ago, Salman Khan described the shattering effects of filming the wrestling scenes in his movie Sultan in these terms: "When I used to walk out of the ring, after the shoot, I used to feel like a raped woman. I couldn't walk straight."

He however immediately backtracked, saying he shouldn’t have said that. The damage was already done though.

The remark sparked a furious debate and led to the Maharashtra State Commission for Women summoning the actor for a hearing.

The actor has stayed mum on the controversy despite demands for an apology by women’s groups.
