Sanjay Dutt set to host TV show on Sony

Actor Sanjay Dutt is set to follow in the footsteps of Bollywood colleagues Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in his new role as television show host.

The popular actor will not take over the reins of "Dus Ka Dum" from Salman Khan, as has been reported, but is now in talks with India's Sony TV about an new show, the Times of India reported.

The show, which will mark Dutt's TV debut, will not be an Indian version of an international franchise, but is being created from scratch. The publication quoted inside sources as saying Dutt is already in advanced talks with the channel and the modalities are fast being worked out. The channel has reportedly already commissioned producers and writers who are now meeting with Dutt.

Dutt did not confirm the story, but official spokesperson told the newspaper: "Sanju sir would love to host a game show this year. Talks are on with many channels. We shall make an official announcement as soon as everything is finalised."
