Shah Rukh Khan's dubious honours

SRK has been embroiled in a series of tussles and controversies

We often hear the saying that stardom comes at a price. Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's life is a proof of the saying. Everything that Shah Rukh does or says makes headlines and he does excel in the art of putting his feet and hands in his mouth.

Of late, the actor has churned out more controversies than hits. Here's a lowdown of some of Shah Rukh's more forgettable social acts.

Shah Rukh Khan seemed super-excited with his IPL team KKR’s victory, so much so that he hugged and kissed the Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's head.

A visibly blushing Ms Banerjee- donning a cotton sari with purple border had no option but to laugh it off.

Celebrating KKR's win at Eden Gardens SRK burst into an impromptu jigs and he went up to Mamata and requested her to dance, but she declined. Shah Rukh then kissed Mamata’s head in a public display of affection... the only man brave enough to have that dubious honour.

Throughout the IPL season SRK was accompanied by his daughter Suhana, while wife Gauri Khan made her presence felt by being absent.

Suhana and her friends proved to be the lucky charm for Shah Rukh and he called them his 'official cheerleaders'.

After winning IPL 5, SRK introduced his wife as the 'sexiest cheer-leader' ever. Gauri was giving extremely cold vibes and looked totally disinterested as she was busy talking on the phone while SRK continued gushing.

Gauri was seen in the KKR stand for the first time this season during the final match. When Gauri was asked why she missed out the previous games of Kolkata Knight Riders, she replied that she had decided that she would attend the game only if Kolkatta Knight Riders reached the finals.

SRK takes the cake for calling his wife 'sexiest cheerleader'.

Shah Rukh Khan was banned from entering Wankhede stadium by Mumbai Cricket Association for five years for his altercation with the security officials after Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Mumbai Indians on the latter's home ground.

Khan denied reports he was drunk when he went to the stadium to pick up his children at an Indian Premier League game. He says he lost his temper when he saw the security guards pushing his children.

SRK is probably the only film star to ever get banned from entering a sporting venue! Another dubious honour notched up SRK's belt.

Last month the actor was summoned by a court in the state of Rajasthan (India) for smoking in public. He pleaded guilty for the offence.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team owner sought exemption from personal appearance in a Jaipur court and expressed willingness to pay the fine.

SRK was asked to appear before the court for publicly smoking at a Stadium during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match.

So, did SRK learn his lesson? Read below.

Not really. While walking down the red carpet to celebrate Karan Johar's 40th birthday, SRK was seen holding a burning cigarette in his hand.  Well, there goes another dubious honour SRK's way.

The RA.One actor allegedly assaulted Farah Khan's husband and filmmaker Shirish Kunder at actor Sanjay Dutt's party. The brawl allegedly started with slapping and punching Shirish.

Farah Khan wrote to media saying, "Shah Rukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way 2 sort out a problem, n that its means the person who's hitting has either a personal or professional crisis going on, n it saddens me 2 see him doing the same (sic)."

However, a truce happened after Shirish and Farah, along with latter's brother Sajid Khan and their common friend Sajid Nadiadwala, went to SRK's home.

So, how does SRK manage to turn best friends into worst enemies?

SRK has done it again and again.

There was an time when Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan called each other brothers and were the best of friends. But now the rivalry between the two is out in the open and they do not see eye to eye.

The two best friends turned worst enemies had a fight during Katrina Kaif's birthday bash in 2008. It is believed that SRK made inappropriate comments about Salman's ex-flame Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, which annoyed him.

SRK in an interview had said that Salman got angry because he turned down a cameo in 'Main Aur Mrs Khanna' (while Salman agreed to do a guest appearance in 'Om Shanti Om'). Salman in turn said he never offered him the film.

In 2011, in a chat show 'Koffee With Karan', SRK publicly apologised to the actor saying: "If Salman is angry with me, it is 100% my fault."

However, Salman retorted saying SRK's apology was for TRPs.

So the two actors now never leave an opportunity to take a dig at each other. If one makes a comment it will be promptly retorted byt he other. Their rivalry is setting an example in the film industry.

These are few of the glaring or daring acts by the Bollywood 'Badshah'. Shah Rukh Khan always makes news but very rarely for getting friendly with his female co-star. His alliance with Priyanka Chopra raised many eyebrows.

SRK also had a tiff with Aishwarya Rai and still shares cold vibes with the lady.

He even miffed his business partner Juhi Chawla when he did not go to visit her brother who was lying in coma for months.

The King of Bollywood is definitely turning out to be the king of controversy.
