Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, who was in Dubai to inaugurate jewellery store Gehna, revealed that she sold her plush Burj Khalifa pad because it was 'too small'.

She added that she’s house hunting in Dubai, and looking for a bigger place to accommodate her son’s 'entourage'.

No property has been finalised yet. “We are looking,” she told Emirates 24|7.

Talking about her decision to sell off her Burj Khalifa pad, she said, “We sold it around three months ago, only to buy a bigger place.”

“We got rid of it because it was too small for us.

“We just had a small apartment here, and we realised that with Vivaan (her son), we come with an entourage. And, there is no place for the entourage!

“And, none of the windows can be opened.” This was crucial for her son, as he needs access to open spaces.

Shilpa was gifted the apartment in the world’s tallest building in 2010 by her husband and businessman Raj Kundra as a wedding anniversary gift.

According to experts, in 2010, the price per square feet for a Burj Khalifa apartment was an average of Dh3,500, and now, it’s between Dh3,500 and Dh4,000 per square feet.

The Burj Khalifa has 160 floors, and a total of 900 apartments, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom.

Unofficial sources told the website she has looked at a house on the Palm.
