After an unforgettable live performance last year, Grammy Award Winner Zakir Hussain is back for yet another captivating night of transcendent world music.

This time, he will share his stage with singer Shankar Mahadevan, percussionist Taufiq Qureshi, Jazz legend Louis Banks and sitar maestro Niladria Kumar, for Nirvana 2014.

Widely considered a chief architect of the contemporary world music movement, Hussain has collaborated with world renowned artists, from John McLaughlin, to Van Morrison and Pharoah Sanders, and was the first artist ever to receive the Best Contemporary World Music Grammy Award.

His music ranges from classic to modern, from rhythmic to spiritual and has taken the world at large as nothing short of an international phenomenon.

The Nirvana performances have a unique allure, as these world class artists seldom perform together, hence delivering often unrecorded music.

The concert will take place on January 25th at the Madinat Arena, from 8.30pm onwards (doors open at 7pm).

Organised by RNH events, tickets are priced from Dh200 as part of the ongoing Dubai Shopping Festival.
