There have been reports that Indian actress Vidya Balan was approached to portray Pakistan's former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in an upcoming biopic.

But the actress prefers to maintain silence on these reports.

She says "many biopics" have come her way.

Asked about the reported project, Indian Express quotes Vidya saying, "Even I have heard that I am doing some films this year, but I don't know actually ... many biopics have been offered to me.

"I have not decided anything yet. So I would not like to say anything about any biopic right now."

Benazir Bhutto was assassinated on December 27, 2007 in Rawalpindi when she was addressing an election rally at Liaquat Bagh Park.

While no formal statement has been issued by the actor, Bhutto's biopic would be the first attempt to essay the life of Benazir who became the first female Prime Minister after she was elected in 1988 following the death of former President General Ziaul Haq.

Vidya, who portrayed Silk Smitha in 'The Dirty Picture' in 2011, won the Best Actress National Film Award for her performance.

The actor was praised for 'Dirty Picture' and 'Ishqia' and is currently working on her upcoming film 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' and has also been approached to play late Indian actor Suchitra Sen.
