Best of Met Gala: Claire Danes stuns in glow-in-the-dark dress

Designer proudly shared the dress in its full lit-up glory on his Instagram account

Claire Danes in her Cinderella-like dress glowed like a star, literally.

The 37-year-old donned a custom Cinderella style Zac Posen gown that actually lit up all along the skirt and bust.

While the actress' dress was unable to shimmer on the staircase, designer Zac took to Instagram earlier that day to share his creation in all its lit-up glory.

The video was a dazzling display as it captured Claire twirling around in her dress in the dark.

In a statement about the dress, which was dubbed 'Galactic Cinderella', it is revealed that the garment was crafted out of fiber optic woven organza.

Claire was a true embodiment of Cinderella as she posed at the Met Gala staircase with her husband Hugh Dancy and Zac, who stood proudly by Claire and his creation.

The star's baby blue dress had a sweetheart neckline and overflowing skirt that skimmed the floor.

She had her blonde hair slicked into a chic up 'do and wore a glossy coat of ruby red lipstick for a pop of colour.

Claire wasn't the only guest to have gone for illumination, as model Karolina Kurková also donned a sheer dress that featured glowing florals.

However, hers had a more interactive twist.

The model revealed that the dress had 'emotional intelligence', and that it was designed to light up in response to the emotions of her social media followers.
