Sewa saves 45,000KW during Earth Hour

The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) announced on Sunday that it saved 45,000 kilowatts of power and reduced 27,200 kg of carbon emissions during its participation in Earth Hour session.

Ibrahim Rashid Dimas, Deputy Director General of the Sewa, said the observing of Earth Hour session in cooperation with the Sharjah Environment Authority and Natural Protectorate, public departments and private sector corporations, comes in line with the vision of the Sewa's Board under chairmanship of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Sharjah Ruler, on the need to keep abreast with the international awareness initiatives regarding the global warming phenomenon and exemplary use of the natural resources.
