Palm Jumeirah continues its award-winning streak, with more than 20 regional and international awards received by its destinations, assets and partner restaurants this year.

AURA Skypool, the world’s highest 360-degree infinity pool in The Palm Tower, is the latest destination on Palm Jumeirah to receive international recognition with a top spot amongst the best architectural marvels in the prestigious Prix Versailles, which celebrates the world’s best architecture and design projects.

The sky pool lounge that invites guests to ‘swim in the sky’ won in the Africa and West Asia region’s Special Prize category for its stunning exterior. Situated 200 metres above ground, on the 50th floor of The Palm Tower, AURA Skypool offers incredible views of the Dubai skyline, Palm Jumeirah and the Arabian Gulf.

Dean Stuart Jarvis, General Manager of AURA Skypool, said: “We are truly honoured to be considered among the best architectural and design destinations around the world. Winning a Prix Versailles award within the first year of opening speaks to the team’s effort to create a one-of-a-kind experience, in a never seen before destination and offer long lasting memories to our guests. AURA Skypool’s bespoke exterior has been designed to take you away from the busy city beneath and frame the breath-taking 360 degree views of Dubai, all whilst combining the earth’s natural elements for an elevated luxurious experience.”

Omar Khoory, Chief Assets Officer at Nakheel, said: “Nakheel’s vision is aligned with that of Dubai to build happiness and prosperity for citizens, residents and visitors through elevated experiences for everyone. Palm Jumeirah has consistently delivered the most innovative concepts, dining options and entertainment, which puts it on the most prestigious award lists every year. The diverse luxury resorts, fine dining restaurants, lounges, scenic promenade and unparalleled views of the Dubai skyline make it an ideal location to relax, socialise and create unforgettable memories. We are proud to see our partners, campaigns, events and attractions win the hearts of judges and visitors all over the world.”

Seen from space, Palm Jumeirah is one of the most well-known global landmarks, with more than 4 million visitors every year and almost 80,000 residents from across 70 nationalities who call it their home. As the destination strives to bring innovative and memorable experiences for everyone, its attractions continue to be recognised with prestigious international awards and accolades.

The latest recognition for the iconic island came with The Next Level at The View at the Palm’s win at the MEPRA (Middle East Public Relations Association) Awards 2022, an annual gala event that recognizes and honors the brightest and boldest campaigns and practitioners in the communications industry.  The destination’s innovation of transforming the highest vantage point in Palm Jumeirah into an ice-rink for Emirati ice-skater Zahra Lari to perform acrobatic spins and stunts won bronze in the Best Launch / Live Event / Stunt category at the awards.

Earlier this year, Palm Jumeirah became a destination of culinary excellence with 10 out of the 70 Michelin recognised restaurants in Dubai on Palm Jumeirah. Known for cuisine curated by award-winning chefs, the island now has the most Michelin Star recognised restaurants in Dubai.

Tourists from all over the world voted Palm Jumeirah as a top entertainment and living destination this year. The View at The Palm won TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Award 2022 and the International Travel Awards for the Best Tourism Development Project this year.

In addition to the international recognition, Palm Jumeirah’s F&B venues also won several local awards in 2022. February 30 and Jones the Grocer on Palm West Beach, Trèsind Studio at Nakheel Mall and SUSHISAMBA Dubai in The Palm Tower won at the 2022 Fact Dining Awards Dubai. In the What’s On Awards 2022, Trèsind Studio won Restaurant of the Year, SUSHISAMBA Dubai took Newcomer of the Year, Surf Club on Palm West Beach was named Favourite Alfresco Restaurant and Koko Bay on Palm West Beach was given the Favourite Bar title.
