4-year-old Syrian crosses desert alone to reunite with family

The Syrian conflict has left many homeless over the last three years and there has been no dearth of humanitarian stories.

If the staggering numbers of child refugees fleeing the country to safer havens was disturbing enough, a look at the latest pictures of a little lad walking alone in the desert separated from his family is nothing short of heart-rending.

But luckily this 4-year-old Syrian refugee, walking with a plastic bag in hand, was spotted by humanitarian workers for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, reported YahooNews.

He was reunited with his family across the border in Jordan shortly thereafter.

In fact, the child was only a few feet away from his family, buzzfeed quoted an official at the site as saying.
