9 killed on UAE roads during Eid holidays

Nine people were killed and 62 injured in road accidents in Abu Dhabi during Eid Al Adha holidays and nearly a third of the accidents were caused by drink driving.

Police data showed other causes of accidents included violation of traffic rules, negligence and lack of concentration, recklessness and failure to stick to lane.

Driving under the influence of alcohol caused eight serious accidents, nearly 30 per cent of the total road mishaps in the country, according to the figures.
