Asian gets 7 years for attempted murder

A criminal court in Abu Dhabi sentenced an Asian man to seven years in prison after he was convicted of trying to murder his friend during a televised football event.

The court was told that the defendant used a knife to stab his friend following an argument while watching the match at their home in the capital.

The court charged the defendant of attempted murder and sentenced him to seven years in jail, according to the Arabic language daily Alkhaleej.
