A 107-year-old Emirati woman is on the road to recovery after undergoing a complex surgery at International Modern Hospital in Bur Dubai.

She had been admitted with complaints of gynaecological problems. According to the doctors, she suffered a condition called 'procidentia' (where the bladder and rectum move out of their position, and slipped down).

She also suffered from diabetes, high blood pressure and dementia with cardiac problems. Her age added to the concerns.

Dr Nikita Trehan, specialist gynaecologist and laparoscopic surgeon said the multi-disciplinary teams at IMH lead by Dr Arun Kumar Kunhiram and ICU team lead by Dr Sushum Sharma ensured the surgery was completed successfully.

Doctors added that she’s on the road to recovery now.
