Attack on elderly care home in Aden condemned

The Yemeni presidency and government have strongly condemned the heinous terrorist and criminal act which targeted an elderly care home in Aden on Friday morning, killing 16 people including 7 women.

The official Yemeni news agency quoted an official source as saying, "Those gangs who commit such crimes cannot be considered human, as this blatant and shameful attack on the elderly, and those working to serve them, shows their level of moral and humanitarian decadence."

In a statement, the government also expressed its deep sorrow and regret to the families and relatives of the victims.

Yemen's Vice-President and Prime Minister Khaled Bahah has instructed the Interior Ministry and security agencies in Aden to quickly investigate the massacre which was carried out by a group of gunmen Friday morning.
