Bird perches on Quran in pilgrim's hands

A little bird perched on a holy Quran with a Muslim pilgrim in the Grand Mosque in Saudi Arabia, without showing any fear.

A YouTube film showed the bird stayed perched on the Quran for more than two minutes as it stared at its pages, before moving its eyes towards the pilgrim who kept looking happily and excitedly at the bird until it flew away.

‘Ajel’ newspaper, which published the film, said the bird perched safely on the holy book as if it realised by instinct there was no danger.

The film showed the pilgrim in the Grand Mosque in the Western town of Makkah held the Quran steady as it did not want to disturb the bird.
