Boy locked in cage, dunked in cold lake

An entire village in China decided to take a 10-year-old boy to task for stealing.

The youngster from Guangxi region allegedly broke into the house of a local butcher  and stole 20,000 yuan (approx. Dh11,727), reported ‘stomp.com’, quoting a ‘NetEase’ source.

A neighbour who spotted the lad jump over the wall and enter through the second storey window, raised an alarm when he realised what the boy was up to.

Not only was the boy nabbed, but the entire village decided to punish him in one of the most brutal ways, according to a ‘Shanghaiist’ report. 

They asked him to kneel inside a cage, locked it and dunked him in cold lake.

Police has begun investigating the matter, while the lad’s motive for theft remains yet unknown.
