Boy returns lost purse with $170,000 cheque

An 18-year-old Kuwait boy who found a purse containing a cheque for  KD50,000 ($170,000) as well as cash and personal items returned it to its owner just as the man was making a report to the police, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

The unidentified man was reporting his loss at the police centre in Kuwait City when he received a phone call from the boy telling him he had found his purse.

“The boy came to the police centre after half an hour and handed the purse to the man, saying he found it near a bank and had to open it to check the identity of its owner,” the Arabic language daily Alanba said.

“The police officer commended the boy and the man tried to reward him but he refused to take money.”
