Deadly crashes on Sheikh Zayed Road over weekend: Dubai Police
A Pakistani woman died and her family suffered from injuries when a speeding car crashed into the rear of their vehicle on Sheikh Zayed Rd over the weekend.
In a separate accident, an Emirati man died when his car rammed into a power pylon at dawn after he lost balance while driving.
The Pakistani family of five was in their car near the eighth bridge on Sheikh Zayed Road when a speeding vehicle driven by a Gulf man banged into their rear of their car, killing the mother. The father and his three children suffered from medium to serious injuries.
Police said the accident occurred because the Gulf driver was speeding and did not leave enough space with other cars on the road.
In the other accident, a 41-year-old Emirati man died when his car veered off the road after he lost balance and hit a power pole.
“It seems the driver lost balance of the car after he fell asleep while driving,” Dubai’s traffic police chief Colonel Saif Al Mazroui said.
