A Bangladeshi maid received six months in jail for her role in the Dh250,000 robbery from her employer’s house.

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance also ordered FB, 31, to be deported after serving her jail term.

On October 10, at around 9pm, her employer AM, a Pakistani investor and his family left the house and returned at around 2am.

They noticed that the maid and another domestic servant ‘R’ were not in the house.

“I immediately rushed to the safe box in a wardrobe in the bedroom.

“The room looked tidy and there were no mess. I opened the drawer where I kept the key. I took the key which was there and opened the safe. It was emptied of the quarter of a million dirhams. Jewellery and precious items were not stolen,” the employer told the court.

The employer suspected that the two domestic servants used the key of the safe and made a duplicate house key as well.

The family has locked the villa’s door and the maid was in her room in the villa’s yard.

The domestic servant R only came, every day, to clean the yard and wash the car.

Police arrested the maid FB, 31, and confiscated Dh2,000 she had with her, on November 2.

FB admitted that R gave her money after robbing her employer.

“After my employer left the house with the family, R used a spare key he possesses of the villa and got in. After a while, he left holding a large amount of money. He gave me Dh8,500,” claimed the maid.
