Unknown donor saves Sharjah woman

Sharjah doctors saved the life of a 55-year-old Comoros woman who suffered from a heart attack with an urgent surgery that cost Dh32,000 paid by an unknown donor.

Mariam was rushed to Al Qassimi Hospital from Ras Al Khaimah by her son after suffering from heart infraction and doctors decided to operate on her to save her life.

The Arabic language daily 'Emarat Al Youm' said the surgery was successful and Mariam was then admitted to the intensive care unit for recovery.

“The hospital bill totaled around Dh32,500 but the patient’s family could not afford that sum. A benevolent person decided to pay all the sum after Mariam’s ordeal was published in Emarat Al Youm,” the paper said.
