Doctor fails to diagnose fracture

Saudi health authorities decided to deprive a doctor from a seven-day wage and recommended that her job contract is not renewed after she failed to diagnose a fracture, the Arabic language daily Almadina said on Thursday.

The doctor examined the leg of an old man at the hospital in the southern province of Jazan after having an x-ray and decided to discharge him, the paper said.

“The man later went to another hospital where they detected the fracture in his leg as a result of an accident,” it said.

“The Jazan health department decided to cut seven days from the doctor’s salary and recommended that her contract is not renewed…it also decided to investigate the doctor.”
