Drunken man touches up sales woman

A drunk Saudi businessman allegedly molested a Chinese sales woman at the entrance of her building, the Dubai Criminal Court heard on Wednesday.

According to the prosecution, the incident took place on June 30 at the entrance of the victim's building. The victim identified as YA, testified that at around 2.30pm when she was at the entrance of her building, she was shocked when someone came from the back and touched her at an inappropriate place.

The victim turned around and shouted at the man. She angrily questioned his intentions. When the man spoke, YA realised that he was drunk. The 42-year-old ASA told YA that he was a policeman.

YA did not believe him and shouted for help. She screamed until other residents and her husband arrived at the scene. The husband caught hold of the man and waited for the police to come. Alcohol was also confiscated from ASA's possession.

The woman testified in the court that the entrance is big enough for two people to pass and there was no one else around. The Saudi man could have easily passed without molesting her.

The Prosecution filed a case against ASA and accused him of assaulting a woman. He was also charged for possessing alcohol and being under its influence. In addition, the prosecution accused him for impersonating as a police staff.

The Court heard all arguments on Wednesday and adjourned the case until October 5.
