Being a global fashion destination it’s only fitting that Dubai pampers its shoppers to a glam makeover this shopping season.

The Dubai Mall will host a massive make-up station, titled the Cocoon, today, in line with the 19th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival.

Designed like a Cocoon, the beauty pod, hosted in collaboration with Paris Gallery, will pamper shoppers.

It gives every beauty buff a chance to enhance their appearances, to discover new looks and to pamper themselves with an interactive makeover, with effects that are sure to surprise themselves as well as their friends and family.

That’s not all, there’s more treat in store for the fashion-conscious.

Internationally-renowned abaya designers Medici by Sheikha Hend Al Qassemi, Hesseh, Bleach, Rouge Couture, DAS and Queen of Spades will showcase their new collection this DSF at the Abbati show.

The exclusive invite-only event, hosted by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and the organisers of DSF,  in collaboration with Paris Gallery, will take place on January 22 at the Godolphin Ballroom, Jumeirah Emirates Towers from 4pm onwards.

The evening’s line-up of designers will feature six of the leading lights of the abaya fashion world, who will showcase their collections.

This year’s edition of DSF has a number of unique fashion initiatives – the Fashion Squad, the IT Closet and the Market Outside the Box event.

The Fashion Squad is a team of renowned fashion experts and bloggers who will handpick the city’s best dressed and award them with shopping vouchers.

The  IT Closet, stationed at The Dubai Mall and Deira City Centre, allows shoppers to upgrade their wardrobe without the hassles of a trial room, but just a simple virtual one.

Market OTB sets up a unique opportunity for Emirati and regional retailers and designers to showcase their products.
