Dubai Petroleum: Gas leakage in Fateh field under control

Dubai Petroleum announced today that the gas leakage, which occurred in the Fateh field in Dubai's territorial waters on February 11, was brought under control on Friday.

In a statement, the company added that the situation is currently stable.

The statement also said that after the incident, the company decided to evacuate non-residents from the nearest infrastructure as a precaution.

It noted that the gas leakage was detected in the zone that had witnessed a fire in 1975, which was then brought safely under control.

 Operations have resumed since then and the situation is stable, the statement said.
