A woman who was diagnosed with a terminal illness spent her last days desperately trying to find her husband a new partner.

Clare Mauremootoo, 39, who was suffering from motor neurone disease and faced the heartbreaking prospect of leaving behind her husband of 11 years, and her sons aged 10 and 7, even tried setting up dates, reported ‘Mirror’.

During the latter part of her life, she was shifted to a hospital and the family was attempting to make the most of their time together. However, she was busy chatting up hospital staff to fix a date for her husband.

But she passed away in 2007 after celebrating another Valentine’s Day.

John said, he never forgot her wish, “but I didn’t want the boys feeling like I was replacing their mom."

However, soon he started feeling lonely and signed up to an online dating website, where he met Julie Macfarlane, who has a young daughter and son about the same age as his boys.

And at their wedding, he spoke of Clare's diagnosis and her wish of seeing him with a new partner.
