An early morning stabbing incident has been reported from the National Paints area of Sharjah, and a Sharjah Police Ambulance has reportedly rushed the victim to a hospital.

An expatriate living in a residential building opposite the GMC Hospital in the National Paints area was stabbed on Wednesday morning. The reason for the attack is still unknown.

The incident, on Wednesday morning, sent shockwaves among residents in the area, as parents living in the area were waiting for school-buses for their children when the incident occurred. The attacker reportedly fled after the incident.

“We were waiting with our children for the school-bus to arrive when the incident happened,” said a mother of two, living in the same area.

Those who know the victim said he hails from Karnataka, India. “He lives in the building with his children and family. I saw him bleeding profusely in the ambulance,” said a resident of the same building.

“We found a man lying in a pool of blood and an ambulance was called. The reason for the attack is not known. It is a very sad incident to happen early morning,” added eyewitnesses.

Sources said the Karnataka man’s relatives too live in the neighbourhood, but did not know the possible reasons for the stabbing. “He was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance,” said another resident.
