Emirates 24|7 gives BlackBerry Z10 to winners

You liked us – we like you right back

It was a lucky day for the winners of the Emirates 24|7 draw for five Blackberry Z10 smartphones.

The winners were handed over their bounty at a ceremony held this morning at Emirates 24|7 offices on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road.

Managing Editor Eudore Chand handed over the Blackberry Z10 handsets to the winners, who were all smiles to receive their new toys.

“Please hold more such contests. We love your website. For crisp, precise and entertainment news, Emirates 24|7 is our first stop,” was what Melissa Lindley, one of the lucky winners, had to say after she collected her brand new smartphone.

The draw was driven through the social media and required readers to like the Emirates 24|7 Facebook page and/or follow us on our Twitter account.

The five lucky winners of our BlackBerry Z10 draws are Melissa Lindley, Fakhreddin Saman, Cesar Espi, Faisal Siddiqui and Mir Telada. Mir Telada could not make it to the Emirates 24|7 office this morning. He will receive his prize separately.

Fakhreddin is an Aircraft Technician with Emirates, the Dubai-based global airline. ‘Jubilant’ may not be sufficient to describe his reaction to our phone call. “Oh my God, I can’t believe it – are you sure you’re not pulling my leg?” Nope, dear Fakhreddin, we’re not pulling a fast one. He too says he’s never won anything before, and the Iranian national has been in the country for 24 years.

Fakreddin Saman a receives his prize

“I think Emirates 24|7 is a great website, a useful way of keeping in touch with what’s happening in the world without having to wait for the newspapers the next day,” he said. “I like to read it on-the-go, on my phone,” he said. Thank you, Fakhreddin – we hope you enjoy browsing our portal on your new brand new BlackBerry Z10.

Cesar is a Technician by profession and has been in the UAE for three years now. The 43-year-old Philippines national couldn’t believe his ears when he got to know that he had been chosen as one of the two winners this morning. “Is this for real?” he asked the Emirates 24|7 representative who called him up to give the good news.

Cesar Espi receives his prize

Yes, Cesar, it is for real, and you better believe it! “I check my Facebook page every day, and get to read all the informative articles that show up in my timeline courtesy the Emirates 24|7,” he added when it finally sunk in.

Faisal Siddiqui receives his prize

Faisal is an Indian media professional who lives and works in Sharjah, and has been in the UAE for over a decade. He too was ecstatic when we gave him the news. “I’ve never won anything before,” he said. “Hopefully, this will be the first of many more that I’m destined to win,” he said. We hope so too, Faisal. “I really like Emirates 24|7, especially your news section, which has so many human interest stories,” he added.

For those of you who did not win this time, it is our sincere hope that you continue to find value in our news portal, and we promise to delight you – both through our news stories as well as our forthcoming lucky draws.
