10-year-old girl from UAQ dies on umrah

A 10-year-old girl from Umm Al Quwain who went to perform Umrah with her parents and grandfather died in Medina on Sunday following severe fever.

Hawa Mohammed, elder daughter of Mohammed Rafeeq and Haseena, reportedly fell sick and died in a children’s hospital in Medina before performing Umrah.

Family sources told Emirates 24|7, that the last rites of the specially-challenged child was performed in Medina.

The family had gone on a 10-day pilgrimage, but tragedy struck them within four days.

“The little girl was almost paralysed and could not speak. She was undergoing treatment in UAQ hospital,” a family friend was quoted as saying in Gulf Madhyamam daily.
