2012's most dangerous roads in Dubai...

The Dubai Police Traffic department has released statistics to this website for the first 11 months of 2012 that show Dubai Bypass Road and Emirates Road in a dead heat for the title of most-dangerous road in the emirate.

According to the police records, 18 deaths due to car accidents were recorded on each of the highways this year.

Sheikh Zayed Road recorded six deaths, while the Dubai- Al Ain Road saw four deaths due to car accidents.

The Jebel Ali Port area, Zabeel, Al Khail Road and Al- Khawaneej all recorded three deaths due to car accidents, each.

Accidents and nationalities

Indians topped the list of drivers who were accused of committing traffic accidents during the past 11 months, causing 283 accidents which led to the death of 29 people.

Pakistani drivers next followed by Emirati drivers, both involved in accidents that left 26 dead.

However, the total number of traffic accidents committed by Pakistanis drivers was higher at 320.

Male drivers, in the past 11 months, caused 1,211 accidents, resulting in the death of 103 people and injuring 1,866 people.

Female drivers caused 128 accidents that led to the death of four people and injuring 200.
