4,614 illegal UAE residents arrested in Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah government has announced arresting 4,614 illegal residents in the emirate in 2015.

Lietutenant Colonel Mohammed bin Askar, head of the Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Department, said the department conducted 200 campaigns against illegal residents in different parts of the emirate last year.

He added that the campaigns also aimed at catching absconding labourers and those whose residence visas had expired.

He stressed that the department has plans to eliminate this problem in the future.

He emphasised that the campaign will continue throughout this year also.
