400 diesel drums found in sea off Sharjah
Municipal Authorities in Sharjah have safely collected 400 diesel drums from sea after they fell from a sinking ship off the coast of the emirate.
Hasan Altafaaq, Assistant Director of Agriculture and Environment Department at Sharjah Municipality, said all floating barrels were collected and stored in a safe place.
Altafaaq said the municipality coordinated with Sharjah Environment Company Bee’ah and several relevant governmental entities. He added that seawater samples taken from the site were sent for analysis to determine the quality of water and remove any pollutants.
