A seven vehicle crash is reported on Al Ain-Dubai road, with tailbacks stretching to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road around 8.30am on Wednesday.

According to an eyewitness, a Dubai Police vehicle, along with a tow truck, is already on the scene, “There are further delays during the morning rush hour,” said KN Shankar.

Speaking about the accident, Shankar further said: “The accident has occurred in Nad Al Sheba 1, right before Exit 6 on the Al Ain-Dubai highway. As far as I could tell, the tailbacks stretched 4-5km, making it difficult for commuters from Al Ain and those connecting from Sharjah via Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

“Of the vehicles involved, I saw six cars and one pick-up truck. All of which have been moved to the side of the road to avoid further congestion.”

Commuters across Dubai have reported their fair share of road accidents, with another fender bender causing delays on Hessa Street, heading in the direction of Sheikh Zayed Road.

Meanwhile, the exit to Meydan Road from Al Khail, heading in the direction of Safa Park, was temporarily blocked this morning when a trailer reportedly crashed into the central median.
