About eight kilograms of narcotic crystals have been seized from passengers at Dubai International Airport.

The first incident uncovered 3.1kg of narcotic crystals, found in a handbag belonging to an Asian passenger arriving at terminal two, reported '7Days'.

Officials became suspicious when they noticed the bag looked unusually full and after searching it found six transparent bags full of the white substance.

In the second seizure at Terminal I, 2.63kg of narcotic crystals were found in the bag of a female passenger who was in transit at the airport.

Initially she denied any connection to it but the woman confessed after officers found her personal details written on the luggage.

The third batch, weighing 2.5kg, was found in a bag belonging to an Asian passenger arriving at Terminal II.

Airport staff noticed the passenger looking nervous and uneasy. After a manual search, a transparent bag containing the drugs was found in a secret compartment.
