A citizen of a Gulf country has been arrested by Abu Dhabi Traffic Police for using an electronic cover for the number plate of his vehicle, the ‘Emarat Al Youm’ has reported.

Col. Mohammed Dhahi of  Abu Dhabi Police told Emarat Al Youm that the accused was trying to evade radars installed to catch speeding vehicles

Col. Dhahi said the arrested youth lives in Al Ain.  He said the police has posted a video on social media to explain his involvement in the offence.

He said the driver failed in his objective because Abu Dhabi Police has the latest technology to track and photograph such offences.

Col. Dhahi warned motorists against any modification or obliteration of number plates of vehicles. 113 vehicles without number plates were seized on Abu Dhabi’s highways in 2014, he added.
