The websites of Abu Dhabi television channel and the semi-official Arabic language daily Al Ittihad were hacked by Daesh terror movement on Friday.

The Abu Dhabi-based Al Ittihad said the hacking disrupted the two websites for several hours before they were restored.

“Work is under way to maintain and repair the websites so they will return to normal,” the paper said on its Twitter page, according to Emarat Al Youm daily.

“This stupid action by that terrorist group will only make Al Ittihad more determined to stick to its position against terrorism in all its forms, types and groups.

“Al Ittihad will always be in the first column with those who are fighting this black terror in defence of Islam and its tolerable teachings against those criminals who are only defaming our religion,” the paper said.

It said the paper is working in coordination with the concerned authorities in the UAE to identify the “terrorist” hackers.
