Accident on Business Bay slows down traffic

JUST IN: The damaged car has been towed away from the accident site and the road has been cleared for smooth flow of traffic, revealed Dubai Police.

Traffic towards Festival Centre, from Dubai, slowed down following an accident on Al Khail Road this morning.

Eyewitnesses claim a white sedan, which was crushed, had toppled over.

Dubai Police' patrol cars were spotted at the accident site, and efforts were underway to tow away the vehicle.

It wasn’t immediately clear what had hit the car and if anyone was injured.

“Traffic was slowing down,” reported an eye-witness.

“The car looks badly damaged. I just hope no one is hurt,” she added.

No casualty have been reported so far.

The accident caused traffic jams until the car was taken away and traffic was diverted from Business Bay Bridge towards Festival Centre as the bridge was partly blocked with the crashed vehicle, police cars and ambulances.

Traffic on the other side, towards Dubai, also slowed down, with motorists slowing down to take a look.
