Ajman DED highlights ill effects of bad health practices on ageing process

Ajman’s Department of Economic Development (Ajman DED) recently organised an awareness campaign for the DED’s staff in cooperation with the Elderly Nursing Home in Ajman on the ill effects of bad health practices on the human ageing process.

The campaign included an awareness programme on how to inculcate good health practices and how to avoid the harmful ones, listing their immediate and long-term bad effects.

During the campaign, the staff was visited by a physical therapist of the nursing home who examined them and explained that a number of health problems that can be avoided by changing some our daily habits in the home and office.

The therapist provided the staff with advice on the correct way of sitting and seating, how to avoid muscle pain while sitting, working and using computer properly, as well as the common causes of back pain at work, where some bad habits of the staff could affect their health in the future.

The therapist also provided the staff with tips on how to take care of the elderly, the practices that can help them to strengthen their physical and psychological health, and the need for participating in different activities and for strengthening their relations with them. All this will have its positive impact on their physical health.

The campaign was in line with the Ajman DED’s endeavours to provide useful services to its employees and to achieve strategic goals that include enhancing the quality of life as well as strengthening the cooperation and social communication between the Economic Department and the Nursing Home in Ajman.
