Ajman waste bins become 'ad boards'

Visitors to Ajman will be surprised to see advertisements for homes and other services randomly filling streets, including waste bins.

The Arabic language daily 'Emarat Al Youm' on Monday published a picture showing one ad for a room is stuck on a public waste bin, reading: "To let…room".

It said a reader residing in Ajman captured the picture and sent it to the paper to complain about such illegal practices in the absence of municipal control.

“Random advertisements about apartments and rooms have become widespread in Ajman, filling walls, power poles and even waste bins.

"Authorities need to act to stop such practices which harm the public scenes,” it said.
