All schools in the UAE will remain closed on Thursday due to bad weather conditions.
Ministry of Education issued a statement through their official twitter handle.
“Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education for the UAE, issued a decision to suspend provisionally the official working hours on Thursday in all government and private schools in the state,” the tweet read.
It added, “The decision comes due to weather conditions, and to ensure the safety of students, students always come back next Sunday.”
Mohammed Darwish, Chief of Regulations & Permits Commission at Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), said, “Due to predicted weather conditions, private schools in Dubai will remain closed on Thursday (March 10, 2016), keeping in view the safety of students and staff. Schools are advised to use their discretion to assist any students appearing for external examinations.”
Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) had issued a statement on Wednesday informing the closure of schools on Thursday.
This is the second day in a row that schools were asked to shut down due to heavy downpour and thunderstorms.
“In order to ensure the safety of students due to weather conditions, private and public schools will be closed on March 10,” reads the tweet from Adec’s official handle on Wednesday around 1pm.
