Arab hacks Sharjah girl's social media

The Organised Crime unit of the Criminal Investigation Department of Sharjah Police have arrested a Syrian national, who is accused of accessing personal photos and videos of a girl from her personal account on social media, and then using them to blackmail her.

Once the complaint was made, the crime unit of Sharjah Police tracked the accused via his email account and made the arrest once they were able to determine his identity of the suspect.

Investigations showed that the suspect created two accounts on social media, with a view to putting up pictures of girls which he copied from personal accounts, in order to get money.

The accused has been transferred to public prosecution.

Sharjah Police have warned of the seriousness of these crimes and called on parents to keep track of their children’s activities on social media.
