Your chances of landing a job are strong if you happen to be in one of these industries.

According to the latest Monster Middle East employment index, UAE professionals working in sectors such as logistics, telecom and marketing are the most in demand right now by employers.

This may not only give you a push if you happen to be on the job hunt but can also help you take a stronger stand if you’ve been thinking of negotiating with your boss in the New Year.

The index has listed these as the top growth occupations in the country when compared to the same period one year ago.

Professionals in purchase/logistics and supply chain are the ones who have seen the maximum number of jobs listed for them.  The industry saw a 43 per cent growth in December 2014 when compared to the same month in 2013.

Job opportunities rose for software, hardware and telecom professionals by 40 per cent during the same period.

The third most in demand on the occupation list are marketing, communications, arts and creative professionals with a 33 per cent growth.

Those professionals who do not have many openings now and may have to stay put in their current jobs include customer service, healthcare, HR and administration professionals. They recorded a negative growth of -3 per cent, -4 per cent and -5 per cent receptively over the said period.

The Monster employment index is a monthly gauge of online job posting activity in Middle-East based on a real-time review of tens of thousands of employer job opportunities culled from a large representative selection of career web sites and online job listings.

The index does not reflect the trend of any one advertiser or source, but is an aggregate measure of the change in job listings across the industry.
