If you are looking for good deals on iPhones or Samsung smartphones, head for the Abu Dhabi Electronic Shopper (ADES) 2014. The four-day long ‘shopper’ starts tomorrow and is offering customers an experience similar to what the Gitex Shopper does in Dubai.
‘Shoppers’ are usually known for bundle offers rather than any serious price drops. But with dozens of new smartphones expected to come into the market during the next three months, you can look out for discounted sales of existing models.
Samsung, Sony, LG, Nokia, HTC and Lenovo have all announced new models that will start rolling out into the local market between March and April. Price of Galaxy S4 models have already dropped on some online stores, selling for less than Dh2,000. Listings on classifieds point to some barely used phones at around Dh1,500.
Visitors also get a chance to win various gifts as part of the daily draw including an iPad, a Mac Book Air, a Nikon DSLR among others.
The organisers are expecting to attract more than 100,000 visitors and generate sales of over Dh50 million in sales. The show starts daily at 11am and run till 11pm.
A live stage show by the renowned Indian dancer and choreographer Raghav Juyal will serve as a highlight of ADES 2014. Known as the ‘King of Slow Motion’, Raghav Juyal, whose stage name is Crockroaxz, is anticipated to draw huge crowds at his debut performance in the UAE. Free shuttle services are organised from various parts of the city.
Buses will be available at Al Wahda Mall and Abu Dhabi Mall in Abu Dhabi City and Safeer Mall in Mussaffah.
