January is one of the better months to purchase air tickets from Dubai for the simple reason that fares are more affordable during this period.
The ideal time to buy tickets and travel is during this month after the New Year rush of travellers has subsided. Many people travel starting mid-December up until the New Year, and these passengers (especially those travelling to meet family and friends) will not take off in the next few weeks, making more seats available at competitive fares during January.
Moreover, this is not the holiday season that can justify high demand not just in Dubai, but all across the UAE.
All schools in Dubai opened in the first week of January and children in Abu Dhabi reported to school on the 10th of this month.
After all the festivities, January is more a back-to-business month with many professionals saving their annual leave to coincide with school spring break and other festivities that come later in the year.
This is also coupled with the mindset of people who are not in a holiday mood at this time and may consider booking for their future vacations, which will be closer to their leave time.
This month and up until mid-March (after which starts spring-break flights and soaring prices) many airlines are offering deals and discounts on airfares.
So, buy tickets and fly when holidays are not on most people’s mind.
Emirates and Etihad have their sale period running right now. Both airlines are offering reduced air fare on an extensive list of holiday destinations. Under the deals, you need to buy tickets by January 18, 2016, for travel until November 30, 2016.
Qatar Airways, too, is offering deals on tickets if you buy by the 7th of this month for travel between January 19 and December 15, 2016. The airline is offering a saving of up to 35 per cent on offer, making January a good deal month.
Air Arabia has special fares on offer this month for flying until March 15.
Air France and KLM are offering promotional fares from the UAE to destinations in Europe and the Americas.
The special fares are available for Gulf travellers through the booking period from January 12 to February 2, 2016, with travel until June 30, 2016.
The many offers running right now may sound incredibly obvious but it’s best to compare to know which airline has the best prices.
Also, don’t forget to compare routes – different ones can be priced differently, making the overall savings on your air fare go up considerably.
