Khalid Mohammed Saleh, Director of Buildings Department at Dubai Municipality, has urged all consultants and contracting companies to register for the new e-building training before the end next month.

After this date the system will be enabled only for the trained companies," he said in a statement.

The move is aimed at implementing the new Buildings Control System effectively and providing all supervising services for the construction work without the need for visiting any of the municipality centres. It will also strengthen the viability of this system through training and qualifying technical engineering cadres of consultants offices and contracting companies with joint building permit working on projects for interrelated tasks and responsibilities in the business processes, Khalid added.

"The department will not receive requests for structural applications as well as completion certificate, temporary supply services, change of contractor/ consultant, deposit refund as of 28 February 2013 in the old system, and will be transferred to the new building control system," he advised.

All technical engineering cadres licensed to operate in the emirate of Dubai should be registered with the municipality. "The registration does not require any test for the engineer or fees and requests for new licenses should be submitted before 1 March 2013 through DM services online."

He pointed out that the new system represents a comprehensive and qualitative electronic transformation in providing services and hope that all companies are aware of the importance of e-transformation and keen to benefit from its functions and applications.
