Car thieves nabbed in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Police arrested two Asian men for stealing two cars and selling them as scrap for around Dh3,000 each while a third one was nabbed for buying the vehicles.

Police said the two drivers, aged 20 and 25 years, were arrested after investigation showed they were involved in stealing the two cars in a public park while their engine was on.

Police also criticized car owners for leaving the engine on, saying this tempted car thieves and made their task easier.

The police said they also arrested another Asian man, 33, from another emirate for buying the two cars and dismantling them before selling them as scrap parts.
