Chocolates with larvae seized in UAQ

Health Department of Umm Al Quwain Municipality seized expired chocolates comprising larvae in a surprise inspection of shops, reported 'Al Bayan'.

Ghanim Ali, Head of Health Department, Municipality of Umm Al Quwain, said: "The inspectors found chocolates with larvae."

Some soft drinks bottles with tampered production and expiry dates were also seized in the raids.

All shops that sold expired products have been ordered shut for a week. On repeated violation legal action will be proceeded against them and they could even face permanent closure, he added.
